Woolrich is proud to release a series of collectible blankets whose proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organizations charged with protecting three of America’s best known National Scenic Trails: The Appalachian Trail, The Continental Divide Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail. In addition to these pieces, we’re also introducing a blanket commemorating a Woolrich hometown favorite, Pennsylvania’s Mid State Trail.
This launch is part of a larger effort to highlight the importance of the organizations protecting and stewarding the “Triple Crown of Hiking Trails” so that future generations will continue to enjoy all of the beauty and wilderness this country has to offer. All blankets made in the USA.
The Appalachian Trail
As one of the longest, continuously-marked footpaths in the world at 2,180 miles long, the Appalachian Trail runs from Springer Mountain, Georgia to Katahdin, Maine. Approximately 2-3 million hikers visit this popular trail each year, with about 2,000 attempting to “thru-hike” the entire trail. Our Appalachian Trail blanket pays homage to the rugged souls who complete this 6-month journey with a soft wool jacquard weave blanket displaying the “A.T.” trail marker.
The Continental Divide Trail
Considered to be the crown jewel in the Triple Crown of long-distance hiking trails, the Continental Divide Trail stretches 3,100 miles from Mexico to Canada at altitudes ranging from 4,000 – 14,000 feet. To honor this challenging trail, we created the Continental Divide Trail blanket. Woven in a jacquard pattern in lightweight soft wool, with a graphic representation of the CDT emblem.
The Pacific Crest Trail
Quite possibly one of the most challenging long hikes in the United States, the Pacific Crest Trail runs from the Mexican border to the Canadian border, winding its way through bone-dry deserts, deep forests and heavily glaciated terrain. Our Pacific Crest Trail Blanket pays tribute to this majestic 2,650 mile trail. Lightweight soft wool woven in a jacquard pattern with the PCT emblem.
The Mid State Trail
Our Mid-State Trail Blanket commemorates Pennsylvania’s longest and wildest footpath: the Mid-State Trail. A section of this trail crosses through our village and the surrounding area and we’re proud to help maintain the MST in our region. This jacquard-weave soft wool blanket captures the spirit of this rugged, 310-mile trail.
